Understanding Steganography and how it work

What is Steganography?

Steganography is a process by which a user can hide his information (without modifying it) inside a file such as in the image or in the zip file, the file is then sent to the receiver who can extract the information from the image, or that file. The information can be confidential information and it can be anything such as an image, video or any other type of file.

Steganography is the combination of two words,”Stegano” + “graph”. Their meaning in the greek language is this:

Stegano” means: hidden or covered.

Graph” means to write.

So if we put them together it means “hidden writing”. Nowadays users embed a piece of text in a picture or any other document such as word or excel. So by converting the form of communication and involvement of these any medium can make your information secure. To hide the information with it is very easy and it is good to hide any type of information such as text, video, audio. It is used to hide highly sensitive data also. It is mostly of two types:
